MARTIN RAFFONE INTERIOR DESIGN NEW YORK
I create spaces that are both comfortable and sophisticated - relaxed and elegant - interiors that inspire in the thoughtfulness of each detail, texture and material - spaces that reflect your needs and desires - interiors that truly feel like home.

To achieve this I have created a highly specialized boutique-style design firm. This means that each and every one of my projects has my complete and total involvement. Every detail is highly considered and thoughtfully selected with a specific goal of providing a rich and sophisticated experience, never stuffy and always comfortable. Functionality is not overlooked in my interiors, often resulting in creatively surprising solutions.

From the earliest age I can remember I spent countless hours rearranging the furniture in my childhood bedroom…it was clear that my passion for creating experience was part of my make-up. After receiving my degree in interior design from Parsons School of Design, I was lucky enough to spend several years working with some of the best designers in New York City – B Five Studio.

Today as a New York City interior designer with my own firm, I have established relationships with some of the best craftspeople available – I consider these relationships as an extension of my firm and continue to build on them. These relationships are critical to my business and in being able to create environments that are not only beautiful but will withstand the test of time – both aesthetically and physically.

My process begins with getting to know my clients through conversation and developing an understanding of how I can provide the richest experience in their daily lives. To me, experience is everything – how one uses a space can only be enhanced by thoughtful use of smart juxtapositions, subtle use of materials and sophisticated use of forms. The end result is spaces that speak to my client’s needs and delight them with beautiful details, moments and ease.

I am drawn to natural materials which are shaped and selected to reflect the projects location – whether in city or country. I believe that the surfaces that surround one in their home should always have a connection to the organic, and how they connect one to the environment where they are located is how they are combined and treated. Color and form are used in the same manner – to provide serenity and excitement. Once these layers are balanced the interiors will work as a whole. Creating and designing living spaces in this way is pure pleasure.
